Shauwea Hamilton is joining Bottom Line as the Executive Director in New York.

“Shauwea was a standout in the interview process from the beginning and those of us on the search committee are thrilled that she will be working with us,” said Greg Johnson, Chief Operating Officer and Co-chair of the Search Committee.

She most recently served as the Chief External Relations Officer of the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, overseeing the organization’s development, communications, policy, and family and community engagement work. During her tenure, she focused on building the organization’s influence in the education sector and diversifying its funding streams.

Shauwea holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Rutgers University and a Master of Business Administration from Fordham University. She brings over 15 years of experience in external affairs and communications from a variety of sectors. As a first-generation college graduate, she understands the challenges students face as they seek access to and progress through college.

Ruth Genn, founding Executive Director of the region, will continue with Bottom Line, focusing on new opportunities as a Director of Business Development. Ruth was instrumental in establishing Bottom Line in New York in 2010 and growing our footprint to now serve over 3,000 students annually.
