Kamari J. Brewer, LCSW-S, CFRE  is a bold, equity-driven leader advancing pathways to college, career, and long-term success for young people, particularly those from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds. As Founding Executive Director of Bottom Line Houston, she is building a transformative, citywide effort to ensure students not only access higher education, but persist, graduate, and thrive.

With more than 20 years of experience, Kamari has a proven track record of designing and scaling high-impact programs that expand opportunity and unlock potential. Her work centers on connecting youth to the relationships, resources, and real-world exposure they need to envision and achieve ambitious futures.

Prior to Bottom Line, Kamari served as Executive Director of Atlas Scholars, where she accelerated organizational growth and deepened access to mentorship and career-connected learning. She previously held leadership roles as Chief Program Officer at The Council on Recovery and Director of The Posse Foundation–Houston, where she built powerful cross-sector partnerships to support diverse young leaders. Her earlier career at Baylor College of Medicine focused on developing innovative, community-based youth programs.

Kamari’s leadership is grounded in a deep commitment to educational equity, youth development, and systems change. She is known for translating vision into action by mobilizing communities, aligning stakeholders, and building sustainable models that drive measurable impact.

She serves as Vice Chair of the President’s Advisory Council at Carleton College and as a Board Member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Houston Chapter. She is also actively engaged in her community through Holy Family HTX and the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council.

Kamari holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University.

When she’s not building pathways to opportunity, you can find Kamari laughing with her boys, on the couch with a good book surrounded by her fur babies, logging miles on her rowing machine, or planning her next travel adventure.
