Erin Cowhig, MILR, is the former Chief People Officer of Nimbus Therapeutics, a clinical-stage structure-based drug discovery company, based in Boston, MA. She served in this role from 2020 to early 2025 and led the company’s Human Resources function as a company officer and member of the senior executive team. Prior to joining Nimbus, Ms. Cowhig served as Vice President of Human Resources at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Vertex), a biopharmaceutical company, from 2017 to 2020 where she was responsible for human resources governance, portfolio management and organizational effectiveness. At Vertex, Ms. Cowhig was also responsible for leading its diversity and inclusion strategy and oversaw several diversity and inclusion programs, specifically those related to talent, employee engagement and retention. Prior to joining Vertex, from 2016 to 2017, Ms. Cowhig served as Head of Talent at Agios Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: AGIO), where she led all aspects recruitment and talent management for the company, including the build of Agios’ first medical affairs and sales teams. From 2012-2016, Ms. Cowhig held several human resources business partner roles at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, culminating in a senior human resources business partner position, leading a team that supported all of Vertex’s corporate functions as well as their commercial functions. Ms. Cowhig holds a B.S. in Human Development and a Master of Industrial and Labor Relations degree from Cornell University.
