Bottom Line offers personalized, one-on-one support for students throughout their college journey, from enrollment to graduation. In addition to in-person meetings on campus, students receive ongoing holistic support through a range of communication methods, including video chat, calls, texts, emails, and social media.
Success serves college freshman students from Boston, Chicago, Ohio, and New York City who are from low-income households and the first generation in their family to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Eligible students must be enrolling for the first time at one of Bottom Line’s Target Colleges and starting their first year of college in the fall.
Students usually meet with their advisor 2–4 times per semester, either in person on campus or via video chat, though meeting frequency may vary based on individual needs. Advisors are also readily available through calls, texts, and other contact methods, providing frequent support beyond scheduled meetings.
Parent involvement is not a requirement or primary focus of Bottom Line’s programs, allowing parents and guardians to decide their level of participation. However, they are often engaged during the financial aid application process to provide essential tax and financial information.
Many students join the Success Program after participating in Bottom Line’s College Access Program, while others enter through our Success Direct recruitment pipeline. Students often hear about our program through word of mouth—from friends, family, classmates, and school counselors. Additionally, Bottom Line staff actively conduct outreach and collaborate with community-based organizations to connect with eligible students.
If a student is eligible for our program, they can complete an application, and a member of our team will reach out to them shortly to guide them through the next steps.
