She brings deep expertise across K-12 education, higher education, nonprofits, and philanthropy, with a strong track record in organizational development, program and team management, partnership development, fundraising, and capacity building.

In her role at Bottom Line, Kyla leads national program strategy to shape, scale, and strengthen the organization’s core program models in alignment with its mission, values, and evidence-based practices. She directs program design and innovation by translating bold ideas into clear, actionable frameworks that can be implemented with consistency and quality nationwide. She is known as an effective communicator and team-builder who leads high-performing teams through coaching, trust-building, and shared accountability, while partnering cross-functionally with senior leaders to align strategy, resources, and operations.

Previously, Kyla served as Deputy Director of Get Schooled, where she partnered closely with the Executive Director to provide organizational leadership and strategic direction. She led the program team, oversaw grants and budgets, supported significant fundraising efforts and guided organizational culture efforts.

With more than 20 years of experience across K-12 education, higher education, nonprofits, and philanthropy, Kyla has led large-scale regional and districtwide strategies to increase postsecondary enrollment and success. Her work includes serving as the inaugural GEAR UP Director for Highline Public Schools and leading the development of the King County Promise, a cross-sector college promise initiative that resulted in a $112.4 million investment to advance equitable postsecondary outcomes across the region.

Kyla is motivated by the belief that providing resonant support to underserved and first-generation students benefits not only young people, but communities as a whole; helping students navigate life after high school, pursue their goals, and contribute their talents and leadership.

Kyla earned a Master of Public Administration in nonprofit leadership and education policy from the University of Washington and holds bachelors’ degrees in ethnic studies and sociology from the University of San Diego. She lives in Seattle.
