Brian Alexander

A native of the Dayton, Ohio area, Brian has made the District of Columbia his home for 15 years. He joins Bottom Line most recently from Washington Nationals Philanthropies. There he provided strategic leadership and management of its signature program, the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, including its youth development programs and community partnerships. He also provided organizational leadership on special projects and planned board engagement.

Prior to the Nationals, he cultivated a regional fundraising portfolio of corporate and foundation funders at New Leaders. Additionally, he organized public and community engagement for DC Public Schools’ new school openings and specialized program expansions, including early college and dual enrollment programs. For nearly 8 years, he worked for City Year Washington, DC where he coached both AmeriCorps members and their supervisors, managed various portfolios of school, district and nonprofit partnerships, and developed program implementation improvements.

His career began as a secondary social studies teacher in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Mass Communication from Miami University (Ohio) and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Education Policy, and Leadership from American University. In his free time, you can find him being a pop music connoisseur, in the gym, or at a Capitals, Nationals or DC Defenders game.
