New Executive Director Brings Award-Winning Leadership to Serve Bottom Line Chicago Students

CHICAGO — With great excitement, Bottom Line announces the appointment of Jennifer Reid Davis to lead its Chicago region as executive director. After a months-long search, Davis became a clear standout for her award-winning nonprofit and education executive experience and commitment to improving the outcomes of students from communities with fewer resources. Entering the role, Davis hopes to reinforce the region’s reputation of providing holistic advising support to bachelor’s degree-seeking students first in their families to go to college.
“In every corner of this city, there are brilliant young people with dreams that deserve lift,” said Davis. “Bottom Line creates the runway—grounded in care, consistency, and connection—for students to hone their talents, take off, and go far. I’m stepping into this role to ensure this pathway is not the exception, but the expectation for every first-generation student in Chicago.”
With over a decade of senior leadership experience in college access and equity-centered strategy, Davis is a proven leader in talent development and student outcomes. As the former Head of Strategy & Equity at Noble Schools, Illinois’ second-largest school district, she oversaw a cross-functional team of 40+ staff serving 12,000 students and 28,000+ alumni, leading district-wide initiatives in college programming, public affairs, and fundraising. She previously served as Noble’s first Chief Equity Officer and is the founder of The Davis Solutions Group, LLC, where she coaches nonprofit leaders on strategic planning and organizational development. A 2007 Teach For America alumna, Jennifer holds degrees from Spelman College and the University of Pennsylvania.
“What excites me most about Jennifer is that she has a knack for building and enhancing systems that amplify the strengths of students and those who serve them. Last year, we reached over 1,500 students across the city. Her unique mix of expertise will not only sustain our impact but evolve how we partner with students as we strive to empower more of Chicago’s future leaders,” said Alissa Silverman, chief regional officer of Bottom Line.
