Sarah Place
As Chief Program Officer, Sarah works to advance Bottom Line’s mission, vision, and effectiveness by leading program strategy, design, and innovation. This role collaborates with other members of the Executive and Senior Leadership teams to nurture a dynamic organizational culture that embraces innovation through a human-centered design approach.
Sarah earned a BA in English from the University of New Hampshire. After graduating, she worked short stints in political campaigns and corporate philanthropy before joining Bottom Line in 2006. She began her Bottom Line career in the Advisor role, where she worked with a caseload of both Access and Success students. As Bottom Line entered a stage of rapid growth, she was able to grow with the organization by taking on management and leadership roles. She joined Bottom Line’s National Team in 2012 and has since had a variety of program leadership roles before becoming Chief Program Officer.
She is motivated by Bottom Line’s culture of continuous improvement and willingness to adapt and grow, while never sacrificing the values that are core to the mission. She is energized by Bottom Line’s incredible team, including some amazing alums she had the pleasure of knowing since they were students in the program.
Sarah lives in the Boston area with her husband Dave, her sons Ben and Will, and Moe, her mini–Australian Shephard. She is an avid reader, enjoys trying to replicate meals she eats in restaurants, and is a novice grower of dahlias.
