Chief Operating Officer

Darin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government and African & African American Studies from the University of Virginia, a Master of Education Leadership, and a Master of Business Administration from George Mason University. Darin is currently a doctoral student in Education Policy at American University and will be completing a certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown University.

In his career, Darin has moved between management consulting roles with two of the major global firms and Pk-12 public school leadership.

From his first role as a high school social studies teacher in St. Louis to his most recent role as the Chief Operating Officer for Richmond Public Schools in Virginia, Darin has viewed educational equity as a social justice issue. He has worked towards a vision where all kids receive an excellent education that prepares them for postsecondary success.

In his spare time, Darin is a fan of any and all UVA sports and spends lots of time losing games of Uno to his wife Nagaina, and their two sons, Marshall and Carter.

Darin believes deeply in Bottom Line's mission and its people and was drawn to the organization's clear passion and success in helping first-generation college students get into and graduate from college.

Why Bottom Line?

"I'm excited to join Bottom Line, especially during this challenging time where we are seeing more students from low-income backgrounds not going to college as a result of the pandemic. Before our eyes, we're seeing the gulf between the well-off and the working poor grow even wider, and I'm excited to join an organization that is uniquely positioned to do something about it by supporting college-bound students through their educational journey."
