Alissa Silverman, Chief Growth Strategy and Development Officer
Alissa brings to Bottom Line more than 15 years of nonprofit experience, serving as Executive Director for a local youth development organization in Atlanta and in senior development roles in organizations such as U.S. Fund for UNICEF and Teach For America. Alissa has spent her entire career working in youth-serving organizations. After completing her undergraduate work at Brown University, Alissa returned to Create Your Dreams (CYD) in Atlanta serving K-12 students in low-income communities where she first served as a volunteer in high school. At CYD, she developed a college support program, including gap funding. After leading Create Your Dreams for nine years, she joined the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, and took over development for a $2.5M region, growing and sustaining the budget to $4M by working closely with individuals, foundations, and launching the UNICEF Experience, an experiential fundraising event geared towards families. She left U.S. Fund for UNICEF to serve as a Development Coach at Teach For America, in order to focus her work and impact on poverty and education in the United States. In this position she worked with regional offices to coach Executive Directors and their development teams on how to effectively build sustainable fundraising approaches and plans. Alissa has a B.A. from Brown University, Certificate of Non-Profit Management from Georgia State, and an M.B.A. from the Goizueta School of Emory University. Alissa currently resides in Atlanta, GA and regularly travels to Bottom Line’s national and regional offices.
